N Scale Graham Farish Model Trains

Graham Farish is an established radio parts maker before WWII. Due to declining demand for radios after the Second World War, the company opted to build model trains starting with the OO scale model. They started offering model trains during the 50s along with additional accessories which are now considered as collector’s items. The initial models were a bust since they are partly made up of destructible parts which contain impure mazac. During the 80s, they were the leader in N-scale models because of lack of competition. Eventually, the company was bought by Bachmann in 2001 and expanded their product line twice as much as Graham Farish did.

There are two types of N scale models of Graham Farish. The first is the pre-Bachmann acquisition. Although their details are not of quality compared to its Chinese made counterpart, its rarity made it a collector’s item. These pre-Bachmann items sport a yellow sticker at the end of the box. The Chinese made Graham Farish N-scale models are more robust and geared towards today’s hobbyists who wanted to have a working train with very detailed finish. Bachmann has completely retooled and reintroduced the Graham Farish N scales making it durable with fine details. They could be distinguished through their white sticker found at end of the box.
