HO Scale AHM/Rivarossi Model Trains
Rivarossi is a company that is not really around anymore. The tale of the demise of this company is one that is all too common in the modern world. The company was a multi-decade one located in the heart of Italy and for that entire period of time it was responsible for manufacturing trains that delighted the public. However, as the pressures of the marketplace increased in the 1990s, Rivarossi was forced to merge with several other companies to create the Lima Models brand. The consolidation was ultimately one that went to bankruptcy in 2004 and the model lines that Rivarossi constructed during that time have been discontinued from manufacturing.
However, there are still models from Rivarossi, AHM and Lima Models available on the market. All three companies were well known manufacturers of discount H0 Scale products and for that reason their trains were very popular. Detail work was also part of the company's specialization and if you compare one of their trains to another train from another company with a similar cost attached, you might be very surprised at just how big the detail difference is between those two trains. The 1/87 scale is predominant amongst H0 Scale AHM/Rivarossi productions.
